Natural Holistic Chiropractic Care
by Steve Gamel
There might have been a time when we only went to the chiropractor if we needed an adjustment to erase a few pesky aches and pains. Maybe our hips were out of whack and caused our lower back and knees to hurt, or we needed relief from an annoying crick in the neck – so snap, crackle, pop, and problem fixed, right?
While a chiropractor is great at quick fixes, many of us overlook them as a valuable resource for guidance on everything from nutrition to providing relief for arthritis, poor posture, anxiety, and debilitating conditions that disrupt our quality of life. Perhaps no chiropractor lives and breathes this holistic approach to wellness more than Taylor Scott, DC. “I’ve never wanted to be the pain management guy,” Dr. Scott said with a smile. “I want to put the whole picture together and get someone taken care of so they don’t keep dealing with the same problem over and over again.”
Dr. Scott is the owner of Lake Cities Chiropractic and Wellness in Corinth. For nearly 20 years, he and his staff have made it their mission not only to employ the traditional and low-force chiropractic techniques used to correct skeletal imbalances but also be that 360-degree care system for patients who have struggled for years with more significant issues and crave a natural cure instead of more prescription medication. His office offers natural therapies, including massage therapy, spinal decompression, whole-body vibration therapy, rehabilitation, far infrared saunas, and electrotherapy. All of these methods and more help his patients recover from back pain, neck pain, knee pain, headaches and migraines, sciatica, fibromyalgia, and other chronic conditions.
But it doesn’t stop there. For example, not many people have heard of color therapy, but it essentially uses colors – which contain their own special healing properties – to positively alter our emotions, moods, and overall wellbeing while healing those parts of our bodies suffering from physical, emotional, or spiritual strain. On top of that, patients with pain, edema, gout, arthritis, allergies, neuralgia, chronic headaches, and swollen joints have often reported relief from Dr. Scott’s ion foot detox therapy. He has plans to add an esthetician and meditation therapies to the practice.
Most people might seek help from a variety of sources for these issues. But they shouldn’t have to. It’s all right here. “It seems there are a lot of people who bounce around like ping pong balls to different medical providers. They’ll go to one place for one issue, then somewhere else for another problem,” Dr. Scott said. “We want people to realize we offer more core services than just adjusting a spine on a table.” He added, “We don’t want to replace your primary care doctor. But there are so many things we can do in this one office.” Long-time residents of the Lake Cities might remember Lake Cities Chiropractic being located in a smaller facility on Swisher Road in Corinth. Eight years ago, Dr. Scott moved to a new office off Corinth Parkway, instantly doubling the size of his practice and giving him the chance to expand his suite of services. He currently works with everyone from the mother of five to competitive athletes and the everyday on-the-go business professional.
Dr. Scott’s mission is to help patients and the world at large learn that it is not necessary to use toxic synthetic substances to become well. Most importantly, he wants to empower families, parents, children, and the public at large to trust in the tried and true methods of chiropractic care and living a healthy lifestyle. “We have patients who can’t get well no matter who they go to. Why is that happening? What’s going on here? How can we help them without simply giving them another pill?” Dr. Scott said. “That’s what we are here to figure out.” He added, “The technology is awesome, and it doesn’t take a lot of time. The majority of people who come here are at their wit’s end. They are super stressed, and they’re aging faster. My goal is to get them to slow down, control that anxiety and stress, and get their bodies cleaned out so they can function at a higher level.”
When Dr. Scott is not at work, he’s spending as much time as possible with his wife, Diana, who has witnessed first-hand the benefits of her husband’s work with her own chronic pain issues. Years ago, she left the corporate world to focus on the mission of Lake Cities Chiropractic and Wellness. Together, they have two daughters who are the joy of their life. For Dr. Scott, there’s nothing better than living in this area and helping his neighbors live healthy lives. “Most folks are onboard with what we do,” Dr. Scott said. “They want to feel better, and it’s nice when someone comes in and says they just need a quick adjustment because they’ve been keeping up with all the things we’ve worked on. That’s a great feeling.”
